1370 wireless card problem, doesn't see connections

Laptop has been fine for 2.5 years. Wireless router connection was working yesterday morning. Didn't install any new software or make any changes. DID run CHKDSK last night, which was still running when I went to bed. This morning, my laptop can't see any wireless networks, not mine or my neighbors. I can plug the laptop directly into the router and connect, but the wireless connection is gone. I downloaded and re-installed the latest driver for the network card but that made no difference. We have two desktops that still connect without a problem, so whatever is wrong is in the laptop. I'm at a loss what to do next. Any suggestions appreciated. Dennis
