1390 wireless card

Question

Inspiron 1501, Vista basic, 1390 wireless card. Laptop would see our village wifi network, which uses a static ip address, but won't connect, would connect fine to a network using auto ip. Tried updated driver, no luck, uninstalled driver and Windows automatically installed another one and successfully contacted to the network. Driver semms to be an old one Version 4.82.28.56 dated 21.6.2006. Wireless adapter now says Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter. Is it possible to obtain a copy of this driver in case I ever lose it? Yes just go to the Dell drivers & Downloads page and download the driver. Then just copy it across to a CD.   Windows also downloads the network driver. Just go into Device Manager open up network adapters double click on broadcom 802.11 click on the driver tab and click update driver.   But you should now be fine now you have installed the working driver
