2650 modem problems

Question

I've a Inspiron 2650 that I 've used basicly in my office.  On our network using dsl I've had no problems. However using dialup I can't connect unless I have the AC cord plugged in. As my company is sending me on the road now I need to get this fixed. Tech support says it can't be and has never heard of this. Anyone else have this happen and how do I fix this? Thanks, Stren

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

This could be caused by the motherboard. If your system is under warranty, you may wish to have this replaced. You should consider contacting Dell Support to have service arranged.

The motherboard was the solution for the AC dialing problem.

Thanks guys, fortunately when I got the 2650 I took the three year onsite option so I'm still covered.  When I get back I'll call customer service and have it taken care of.  stren
