3 minute network startup

I was recently having a problem where it would take 3 minutes for my wireless or wired network access to be allowed after a boot up (just started doing this out of the blue).  After logging in you would see the hard drive light stop after about 30 seconds and no network.  My Norton A/V had an exclamation point on it.  Sure enough 3 minutes after the desktop appeared my hard drive light comes back on and everything loads.

I reinstalled all of my drivers, un-installed Norton A/V, at least 100 reboots.

Went to msconfig and tired diagnostic startup with no success.

Finally, I noticed that the "Workstation" service was "Starting" instead of "Started".  I disabled the "Workstation" and "Server" service and rebooted.  Everything was back to normal.  I re-enabled the services and it has been working fine since.  If you are having this problem you might try and disable these services, reboot and re-enable them to see if it helps.
