4600 not connecting to the network
Dear All
I have a 4600 which has fallen off the network, I am using a working cat5e cable and it does not work, I dont even get a flashing network light on the back. It is a built in nic, xp pro sp1.
I have updated the network drivers, uninstalled all the networking and put them back in, but it still does not connect. It did connect, but all of a sudden it does not work?
I have tried a static ip address, I can ping 127.0.0.1 but nothing else.
Can anyone help please?

Yea I have tried several new network cables, and I am nowusing a working tested port, its my port which i connect to the netrwork with. I have also set the nic to auto, 100 f/d 100 h/d and 10mb and to no joy.
The nic connects and then dies, you see it saying connected 100mb, then it disconnects, after disabling and reenabling it.
I put an external nic into it, and that would not work either!
Help!

Connected to a router or a switch? Most routers with uplink ports with disable the port next to it when you use the uplink port.
What does, "Its def a working port ", mean?

Sorry
Its connected to a switch, which has auto config set. Its in a working port as I have tested this with 2 other machines. It just does not access the network.

The only thing I can think of at this point is resetting the TCP/IP stack which is at the end of this article:
