Are you looking for the ethernet network controller or the wireless network controller? Have you recently reinstalled Windows on this machine? If so, did you install the chipset drivers as the first drivers installed.
If your operating system is XP, then go to Hardware - Device Manager in Control Panel, double left click on the network adapter and uninstall the driver. Reboot the computer. XP will then find the adapter and reinstall the driver. This will be good for a start. Try the troubleshooting facility for network connection in Control Panel, as well, if you continue to have trouble.
when i uninstall and restart, it goes through the motions of installing the driver and then saying no software found. i tried advanced in several instances to look for it myself, but to no avail. re-installed the chipset drivers and the 2 others and still i get the same thing. tried the dell driver re-install and that helped my usb 2.0 problem that i was having, but not the network controller.
Having a similar problem with Inspiron 5100. Re-installed windows XP from cd supplied by Dell when purchased. Trying to reinstall drivers for internet hookup. Have wireless, mini pci card, tm1300, broadcom. Attempted to re-install driver from download on Dell website. Process started, then got message that not all files would unzip, error code 110. Found your reply about chipset drivers, so went back and installed chipset. Tried to re-install card driver and got the same error.
i found a solution to my 5150 problem, may help you as well. i unscrewed the cover for the pci card slot, and did a search on google, (not through dell) for the broadcom drivers with the listed numbers found on the mini pc card. the file name was R76521na.exe. hope that helps.
