I just spent all of last night going through the same thing you are. Basically, what it came down to was that I *did not* have the Broadcom 570x Gigabit controller that is constantly mentioned on this board but rather a Broadcom 440x integrated controller. Of course I couldn't find any reference to it or anywhere to download these from the site but I just happened to have made the OS disk using Dell's tool before I wiped the machine. Out of desperation I tried the driver on it and it worked! I now (finally) have a clean device manager.
I had the same problem with mine, and spoke with Dell for hours and they hung up on me I frustrated them so much. They obviously don't know what is in there own systems. This driver fixed the problem for me too. Thanks. Here is the link to broadcom that gave me the drivers.
