600m ethernet controller driver?

Question

I don't want to call dell for that - I have a brand new inspiron 600m on which i have reinstalled windows xp. I got all the drivers (except ethernet) from the web site, and everything works except the ethernet controller (it is listed with a yellow '?' in device manager). I have tried installing the driver for the broadcom card (R86360.exe) but it looks like it is not the right one. Can anyone help? Before 24 starts? ;)

Did you install the chipset drivers as the first drivers installed after the reinstallation of Windows?  If not, chipset drivers can be found at:   http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_600M&category=0&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=1134&devlib=27   Once the chipset drivers are installed, you should be able to install the drivers for the Broadcom 570x intgegrated controller. I'm having the same problem but the only differnce is that I have download both of this LINKS and I still can't get the Ethernet Control to work. What should I do??? I just got this Laptop and I formatted so I could install XP Prof.

You can stop hijacking other's threads.  It makes it very confusing.  DId you load the chipset driver for your notebook?
