6430U won't cache wifi password

I have a 6430U and am connecting to a LinkSys 54G wireless router.  I am good to go when I sign in, but no matter what I do, the machine will not cache my password to get onto my wireless network.  I am making the selections to save the password when I first login, and have tried resetting and power cycling the router but that didn't seem to help.
