There are any number of them. I guess the main one is my Internet provider page that allows me to see the filtered emails, etc. There are several others too. I was always able to access these sites until a month or so ago. Another site is www.friendfinder.com

might try restoring your computer to an earlier date than when your problem started-

also, when you started having the problem,,is there anything that you did with your computer.

contact your internet provider, and tell them...there might be some things they can do for you.

Check to see if the sites you cannot access are listed in your hosts file.  The hosts file should be in the folder C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc.  Note that you may have to open Windows Explorer and change the stettings in Tools > Folder Options > View, to show hidden files and folders.  The hosts file should open with Notepad so you can view its contents.   If the sites are listed in the hosts file, report back on what else is in there, we can go from there.

I opened the hosts file, and all that was there was an example and a local host.

Have you checked your system for spyware and malware with at least two different antispyware programs?  Have you checked the security level in Internet Explorer?  Is it set to the default level?

Yes, I have checked for spyware, etc. I am using Netscape as a browser, but tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox, and they both did the same thing. Another note that I should mention, I am networked, and cannot connect with my laptop anymore. It sees the network, but won't connect. Perhaps that is the source of the problem?

Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services
To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then OK. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and press ENTER after each command:
