Accessing other computer on my wireless home network
I have a wireless home network with three computers (2x Latitude and one Dimension 4550) running WXP PRO and one running Vista Home premium (inspiron 1720)
1. I reached the conclusion that the three WXP computer can access only the PUBLIC VISTA FOLDER and nothing else. Am I correct? If not how to set the other folder to make them accessible on the network: I tried to set "everyone" to full control (after having shared them ) but no avail
2. In order to make accessible the PUBLIC folder from the other computers I have to turn off Norton (that came with the computer) . I suppose thar I should do some setting on Norton but I am not expert on Norton (The other computers use McAfee). Can anybodu give instructions or direct to some tutorial that explains how to do the proper port setting?
Thanks
Giampaolo

no port settings are required, nor configuration of antivirus.. all you just need to understand is how to set all the folders in shared mode, if you can do that on XP that is pretty much the same with vista...
you can also go to control panel > network and sharing center > then enable the settings for shared folders (thats for vista)...

As long as you have File & Print Sharing enabled on the Network Adapter, that's all the tweaking you need to do. the rest is done with the Network setup. See if this tutorial helps:
