Accessing the Internet.
Running Windows XP (prof). - NTL Broadband 600K - Linksys Router Two pc's connected - Norton Internet Security Professional.
System was running well and had been for months. Virtually overnight internet access no go.
The only thing that i can pinpoint is that i must have done a live update on Norton Internet or it was done automatically.
If i disable Norton --- internet access ok.
Other info: When i originally connected the router i had a usb connection from the modem to my pc and a wire connection from the router at the same time - everything ran smoothly. On trying to solve this prob i have disconnected router and am running directly from the NTL Modem.
PC downstairs running ok - no problems.
Would have hoped Symantec could have helped with Norton Internet Prof. Very difficult to contact.
Grateful for any assistance.

Joe240,
it seems like Norton is keeping a really close eye on TCP/IP port 80. Do you currently have Norton set to Tight for internet security? Update can't change settings, but can change the rules that constitute what "Tight" security means. I couldn't retreive emails after an update to norton once.
^_^ Cheers!

Problem came - lasted for 5 days. As mysterious as it came, this morning without any intervention from myself it cured itself. I am totally confused. Looking for setting "tight" on internet security - where do i find it?
Thanks for your help
