ad hoc connectivity problems

I am trying to set up a ad hoc connection to allow another laptop to connect to the internet through my laptop, and everytime my connection shows limited or no connectivity.  I am connected to the internet through LAN and have access to the internet, but remote computers cannot access internet

Which version of Windows is on the computer that makes the connection to the initernet?  Did you enable Internet Connection Sharing on the ethernet adapter on the computer that makes the ethernet connection to the internet?  Did you put the wireless card on that computer into Ad-Hoc mode?   Steve

I'm running windows vista, I do have ICS enabled, but I'm not sure about the wireless card being put into ad-hoc mode.  A few weeks ago it was working, but now i cant get it to work.
