Additional users cannot access Internet

Question

I am helping a friend with her pc and she and her husband have their on user accounts on Dell Dimension 8400 with a Verizon FIOS connection.  We were on it to remove a message and then she went to go into the internet and the lights went out in the house and back on but now she cannot access the internet.  Her husband can in his account but she cannot.  I tried creating a new user to see if her's was corrupted from the power outage but still cannot get to the internet. It opens the internet page but does not display anything and freezes.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Nancy

We did. They are all administrator. It is just a home pc. I created a new users as admin maybe that would get to the internet. no good. Could the registry have gotten corrupted down the power outage??

You can close this issue out. I spend two hours on the phone with Dell support and it turned out to be that YAHOO was loaded twice and it kept getting locked when it was trying to go out to the internet. Once we disabled one of them, it went out to the internet just fine.
