ADSL No Connection.

Please Help!!

After making some horific newbie errors in respect of my computer I was faced with having to format my computer, ever since I appear to have developed an ongoing problem, depsite numerous conversations with my ISP and trying 3 different modem's (wired and wireless) changing the filters and the conecting wires my routers always indicate that I do not have a stable ADSL connection. This leaves me without internet access.

I am yet to find a reasonable solution to the problem, I can only assume that this is a problem that has arisen as a result of the format or system error any help would be most appreciated.

I am running an E520 Dimension, and since the intial re format, the original disk that came with my operating system has been damaged and d£ll will not replace this as helpfully they no longer have the manufactuers approval to make theese.

Thanks in Advance

You could buy a brand new (not upgrade) Windows CD.
You'll need to download from another PC, all the drivers that are needed for your PC for the Windows version you are going to buy.

If you want a free OS, you could always download Ubuntu Linux and give it a try.

I was thinking along those line, i.e reinstalling the operating system but I do still have the resources disk that came with the PC which I assume holds all the drivers for my original setup up of my computer. Can anyone think of a reason or problem that would cause me to have no ADSL line.

I have Verizon DSL and a 15-20 feet telephone line running from the phone outlet another room to the DSL modem which also has a router. And I have a solid internet connection.

This problem is growing more random by the second, I have now found and used my original operating disk to reinstall my OS, I can get intermetent connection to the internet but again every 10mins or so I will lose this for a significant period of time i.e hours at a time.......having tried the obvious uninstall 3 different modems, changed filters had my ISP check my line password logon etc still it persists. RANDOM and its killing me.

You might want to go to www.dslreports.com/forums/all
and see if the folks over there can help. They have message boards each DSL provider.
