I'm still occasionally using IE8, very similar to IE7( I'm mostly using Chrome). I'm assuming you have to change your cookie settings.
Go to your toolbar > tools> internet options > privacy then you can choose the default settings or, which is what I have the 'block cookies' setting. I then have to allow any website to deposit cookies. Here is what to do if you want this option:> advanced > override automatic cookie handling > block first party cookies, block third party cookies > ok
You have to then remember to enter a specific site, otherwise you cannot register on that site. Here's how to do that : still on the privacy tab > sites > type site you want to allow cookies from > allow > ok
