Anybody Please help!!!
I need advise on the best Modem to buy for my Dimension 1100 desktop computer. Mine did not come with a preinstalled Modem. I have researced and found two options V.92 PCI Data Fax Modem and a 56K PCI Data Fax Modem. HELP!!!!

The V.92 types are the latest. However, there are many out there. A $20 modem will be about what the original equipment modems that come with PC's are. If you want the top line, US Robotics modems are considered the top line. Since you have an "entry level" PC, I doubt that you are looking for the "top line" modems.
Most modems are "data" and "fax" modems. Some are also "voice" modems, but realistically a PC makes a poor telephone.
