Actually, that is more than a wiseacre comment. You have Internet access through an ISP other than AOL now. Why are you trying to access through AOL? Just go to AOL.com and log in there.
Basically, you just open up Internet Explorer and browse the net. To get mail, if you want to continue with AOL, just go to the web site and log in. However, why do you want to keep paying two providers? Do you just want to keep your e-mail address? If so, you can subscribe to AOL's e-mail at a reduced monthly rate and you get all the benefits of being off of AOL! What a deal!
All sarcasm aside, AOL's product is bulky, intrusive, unruly, and it interferes with your ability to use your new ISP properly. Consider the information I gave you above and save yourself some time, money, and aggravation. We get enough of that just from owning PCs in the first place!

You haven't given too much detail. What kind of broadband? Cable? DSL? How is the modem connected, through a network card or USB?
If it's cable, there should be no problem accessing AOL, but it must be set up as ISP/LAN connection. With XP, you should be using AOL 7.0 or 8.0. Please post back with details and someone will try to help.

I'm having the same problem connecting to AOL Broadband ! I was told by AOL that there is a conflict with XP and to contact Dell which I have done. I was told by Dell that I have to download a 'patch' and they would come back to me to inform me which one but still waiting! . This has been ongoing since Jan!!!
My computer is a Dimension 4600 using NTL telephone line and a USB cable for modem.
Would be most grateful if you can help
