Belkin Wireless G USB Print Server

I have a Dell AIO A920 printer and when I connect to the print server the test page will not print. Everything is setup correct. Is the printer compatible with this print server? I have contacted Belkin and they have check all the settings which they say is correct. I have also connected another printed (Epson) and this prints a test page fine.  What do I do to get this printer going please help. Thanks DC

Hi,

I followed the link from Belkin support and found that Dell A920 is a supported printer for the Wireless G Print Server. What is the status of the Error LED on the Print Server. If it is OFF then the printer is detected fine. Do you know the IP address that the Print Server has been configured for? For eg: if it is 192.168.2.225. Open Internet Explorer and enter these numbers in the address bar. This would open up the Print Server Setup Utility page and will prompt you for a password which is by default blank. Click Login. If it opens fine, the next step is as below,

1) insert the print server CD and Install Port Monitor software - instport.exe

2) After the installation is complete, Click Start --  Control Panel -- Printer and Faxes -- Right Click on the Dell A920 printer icon and Click Properties -- Click on Ports Tab -- Check Belkin Port and Click on Configure Port

3) In the next dialog box, Click on Locate Servers. Select the print server listed there and click OK. Click OK again.

4) Once you are back at the Printer Properties window, Uncheck Enable Bidirectional Printing. Click Apply. Try to Print a Test Page.

All the best.

Hi Chris

Thanks for the help but I have try everything you suggested and the printer will not print that test page. It is coming up with a "communication not available" error. The USB cable is in and the printer can be recognised if I put in the ip address 192.168.2.4 DHCP on. Sould I assign a ip address and not enable DHCP.

Cheers David
