best wireless option for this computer
I ordered a new 580 Desktop and want it to be equipped as wireless. I contacted Linksys they said I would need this adaptor to communicate the Windows 7 64 bit OS with my existing WRT54GS V. 2 router: homesupport.cisco.com/.../AE1000
Dell recommended Netgear WNA3100 Wi-Fi Adapter Walmart carries Netgear WNA3100 802.11n (draft) Wi-Fi Adapter anyone know what (DRAFT) stands for? Also do you have any recommendations.
Does anyone know if these are better options than an internal wireless card? And is one better than the other, any recommendations as to the best wireless option for this computer? Any help will be greatly appreciated

You should consider upgrading to an N router like the Linksys 2000. Matching the router and the wireless card is good, but not mandatory. It makes it easier to set up. The AE1000 is an N adapter that uses a USB port. If you get an internal adapter card, be sure to see if the Inspiron 580 has an available slot for it. Desktops are not usually wireless since you can position the router near the computer since the computer doesn't move around. The Ethernet card in the Insp. 580 is a gigabit card and would work well wired to a new N router with gigabit support.
