bluetooth dell 355 module problem inspiron 1505

I have a problem with bluetooth dell 355 module. I connected to my notebook a bluetooth wireless mouse and headset. All is usually working fine, however, few times a day it stops working and then when I try to reconnect the device (by clicking view devices in range) it says: 'bluetooth license check failed'.
The only solution then is to restart the pc which is very annoying.

I have already tried to uninstall both: bluetooth driver and software and then to install the drivers from official dell web page - it did not help at all.

Please let me know, is it a hardware problem, that is my dell module 355 is broken? or is there any other solution?

In first thinging that the error says it's a "license" issue I would look in that direction. Secondly, try deleting the wireless mouse and headset and reinstalling using the proper credentials for the intial handshake between them. Also maybe there is a setting in the 350's module that says disconnect after a certain amount of inactivity?

I tried to eliminate the interaction problem of using both headset and wireless mouse, I used only mouse (headset was off) and the same problem occured. Moreover, it stops working even when I actively operate the mouse so that it cannot be issue connected to disactivity.
If you have any other ideas, please let me know, I will try that

I have the Dell 355 Bluetooth module installed in my XPS M1710, and after updating the driver this morning through Windows Update, I too get the "Bluetooth License check failed" error, and the bluetooth fails to function.

What is up with that? The driver update specifically says it it for the Dell 355 module, and when it is installed it's now broken? What's going on?

I am facing the same problem after the latest hardware update from the Windows on my new Inspiron 6400. Anyone knows how to uninstall the update? It is not visible under the Add/Remove Programs along with the regular Windows updates.

I had to do a System Restore to get back to normal operation.

I just encountered the same problem on my 1705. It worked fine before installing the update for this device on Windows Update. I read in a separate forum that the problem is linking back to the driver. There is a conflict between the windows driver and the manufacturers driver. I am still searching for a fix.

Hopefully this works for everyone. I found this post:
regarding the same issue. It's stating to uninstall the WINCOMM package in add/remove programs, restart, then install the Dell drivers located here:

Knock on wood, it seems to be working for right now.

Not it does not work I get the the Blue Tooth Activate Blue Tooth using Fn + F2 or Radio On/Off appearing on the screen how ever pressing Fn + F2 does nothing and installs nothing. the only button is Cancel Installation which just sits there. It is not working. There is no radio on off switch

Sorry it didnt help. Since I reinstalled the software, mine is working with no problems. Did you physically uninstall the drivers using add/remove programs?
