Bluetooth hardware fault?
Ok I think I have determined that the reason I can't get the bluetooth 350 truemobile to work on my 9300 is because there is a hardware fault.
My reasoning:
1. In device manager I should have some sort of bluetooth device or at least an other device to at least inform me of some hardware.
2. I did a full reinstall using the Dell restore disk. BTW this is just a straight xp home sp2 disk with auto activation, did not display any unknown device that would be the bluetooth module.
3. Pressing FN+F2 the bluetooth light should have lit up, unlike like the wireless.
4. For a brief moment the bluetooth light did light up, but alas only briefly and then never again.
5. Installing the latest drivers always says to turn my bluetooth on, but gets no further in installing the drivers.
From my above points do you think I have stuffed hardware?
Thanks
David

If there is, it is possible that the Bluetooth drivers are set to power off. If that is the case, right click the Bluetooth icon and select power on.
Can I also check that you have actually installed the relevant Bluetooth driver stack which is available on the Dell download site?

There is no bluetooth icon in the bottom right system tray.
And the drivers I downloaded are here:

sounds like the drivers didn't install.
Suggest you have a read of this knowledge this article to see if it's in any way on installing the drivers.

Yes I did have a look at that link, and I did follow the instructions about renaming the bth.inf. But this did not make any difference. The other thing is that I don't get any bluetooth under the device manager at all, so I don't even get to the point where I may have the incorrect bluetooth driver installed.
Just out of curiosity are there any other drivers on the Dell Truemobile driver cd that is not in the dell download site?
Thanks
