Bluetooth keyboard not functional but mouse is functional
First let me tell you how I began to troubleshoot this. Since I had no keyboard, I could not troubleshoot by typing "dell.com" into the browser. I called Dell; the first person couldn't assist me unless I paid $49. I asked him instead to send me an email with a link to dell.com, so I could click on it. He couldn't/wouldn't do that, so I asked for a supervisor. I explained all I really needed was an email with link to click on. The supervisor couldn't/wouldn't help. I asked for HIS supervisor. Keep in mind, I've been placed on hold three times now. While waiting for the third person, I was disconnected.
A friend finally sent me a link to dell.com. I followed all of the troubleshooting steps; but none resolved my problem. I was assigned a case number and told to electronically contact Dell with the case number. Now tell me, if one is troubleshooting a keyboard issue, how is one supposed to type the blasted case number?
Anyway, I think it is some sort of reception problem because the keyboard holds a signal for about 3 seconds and loses it before the numbers to complete the pairing are entered. I don't know how to tell if the problem is the receiver, the keyboard or something else.
