SeanMullan,
Places to look to see if the bluetooth Connection is enabled
Start, in search type...
bttray
click on it. This will pur the bluetooth icon is the sstem tray, near the clock. Bluetooth can be enabled/disabled there.

SeanMullan,
Vista/Windows 7 this should work c:\systeminfo.txt
It does not work for XP. You can also download the Finding System Information Tool

I to am having the same problems with Bluetooth. Actually started the FIRST day I received my NEW computer from Dell. Long story short......dell sent out a technician to install a new card in my NEW computer. It worked for a while and then the same thing happened. I ended up going through dell support online and they linked to my computer and fixed the problem somehow. It now has happened again and my warranty is out. My bluetooth is not in my device manager anymore. It was working fine a few days ago and all of the sudden "pooof" no bluetooth. What a joke! If your not a computer expert you go through pain-staking hours trying to get it fixed like coming to support forums like this........only to see a bunch of other people having all the same problems. Have bought quite a few Dells over the years but this one may be the last. Frustrating to say the least..........

sckwake,
Places to look to see if your Bluetooth Connection is enabled
Download the System Information Tool If using Vista/Windows 7, the tool needs extracted. Once extracted, right click on sysinfo and run as administrator.
If using XP, double click on the tool, then double click on sysinfo.
Allow this past your virus program and post the information back here.
