Bluetooth on XPS M1530

I bought a used XPS M1530 from a friend a few months ago and he told me it did have Bluetooth, but I've tried everything I can think of and can't get it to work. I went to computer management services, it's says it's set to automatic and is running, nothings happening. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. First check if the Bluetooth is enabled in the Bios. Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo on startup, to enter the BIOS. Under System move down to Device Info, and check if it says Bluetooth = Installed. Then move down to wireless and press enter, select Internal Bluetooth and make sure its enabled on the right side. Then move down to Wireless Switch and make sure its set to All. Press ESC and Save Changes and Exit.

To turn on the Wireless and Bluetooth on the XPS M1530 you will need to turn on the wireless switch at the right side or your laptop.

You can also check Device Manager if the bluetooth card is getting detected. Click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to network, and check if you see Dell 355 Bluetooth.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

Royan

Thank you very much. Turns out its not installed, he must have unknowingly deleted it before he sold it to me. How would I go about reinstalling it? Need a disc?

Hi,

In the Bios if it says Bluetooth = Not installed means there is no Bluetooth Card detected. Either the system was not shipped with a bluetooth card, or if it was its not getting detected.

If it was shipped with the system and not getting detected, then use the below link to reseat the Bluetooth Card.

Thank you
