Broadcom 57xx NIC failure

Question

Broadcom 57xx gigabit ethernet controller occasianally fails. Computer still thinks it is connected however all internet functions time out and stop transfering. Latest drivers are installed and diagnostic tool says everything is fine with the NIC unless I run it after the NIC fails, in which the diagnostic program comes up with an error and won't open. Seems to happen while using heightened bandwidth, like downloading or hosting servers. If I restart the computer, everything is fine. However, I can't leave the computer downloading or hosting a server because it will randomly fail and won't return unless I restart.
