Thanks for the response.  I re-installed the OS about 6-8 months ago, but suddenly this error started yesterday after no new Windows Updates or any changes to settings that I am aware of.

I have a similar problem with a brand new desktop XPS8300.

At cold startup, code 10, network adapter corrupted.

Let the computer warmup 2-3 min, reboot and everythink is OK.

When does not start, the device manager and the Dell Check Tool DO NOT SEE the NETWORK adapter.

After warmup, it apears without reinstalling it. I suspect a hardware temporary problem, hard to convince the Dell tech suport which knows no more than "reinstall the driver".

I did it twicw, the same problem.

In addition, after you reseat the wireless adapter, try looking st these places to see if the Connection is enabled

Looking at your information, I do NOT see a wireless network adapter. I am thinking that maybe the wireless adapter came loose or may have failed. I would first check to see if it is seated properly. INSTRUCTIONS HERE.

Thanks for the help Rick.  Well I checked the Wireless Adapter and it is still securely in place and connected and the wireless switch is definitely on as I get an icon on-screen when I switch it back and forth.

I have also tried uninstalling the driver and re-installing by checking for updated hardware and when it tries to re-install it tells me that the Device Driver Software was not successfully installed.

Any other advice or did my Wireless Adapter just give up on me?

It sure sounds like that. Without me looking, if the computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support to get it replaced.

 

If not under warranty, there are a few adapters located HERE. It gives you an idea on what adapters will work.
