The first one is your ethernet port, used to connect to a router or cable modem using wired technology.
 
The second one is your wireless card, used to connect to a router using wireless technology.
 
The third one I believe if your firewire port, although I don't know why firewire ports are seen as "network connections".
 
Maybe the reason one is crossed out is that you don't have a driver for it? Visit http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400/E1505&os=WLH&osl=EN and change the computer model number to match yours and have a look in the network section for drivers for it.
