Broadcom drivers won't re-install D600

I've had to rebuild a dell latitude D600.  I've tried to re-install the broadcom drivers from the dell website.  The file is R107518.  The computer is running Win XP Pro.  I ran the installation program, and the drivers say that they were installed.  They do not show up in the device manager, and I am not able to connect to the network.  I've also taken a hard drive from a different D600 and that was able to connect to the internet, so I know that the issue is not a hardware issue, but a software issue.
Any suggestions to get this computer talking to the network again?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes if the chipset drivers are not installed before attempting to install any other device drivers, one has to go into device manager and remove all devices that were not installed in the correct order.  Then, with the chipset drivers in place, go back and install the other device drivers.  On rare occassions, when the chipset drivers are not the first drivers installed, one has to start again from the beginning, reinstalling Windows, then making sure that the chipset drivers are installed first, then installing the other drivers.
