Which model computer? Which version of Windows? Does your ethernet network adapter show up in Device Manager when you expand the litsting for Network Adapters? To connect to a cable modem, you do not need to load any software whatsoever. Dump the Comcast Disk. Windows default properties should allow you to connect to the internet as soon as you plug into a cable modem after it has been powered down for 5 minutes, then powered up for a few minutes.
