Broadcom V.92 Fax cannot send

Dimension with Broadcom v.92 56k fax modem.  Driver is Broadcom date = 8-27-2003 Version = 3.5.25.0

 

Getting no answer when sending using MS Fax.  If I dial a phone number using the fax and pick it up I hear it trying to negotiate a connection.  When I dial a fax number the Fax Console returns a no answer.

 

Suggestions?

I have the same modem and driver.  I double checked, and the fax sends fine, so it is not a driver issue....

Hi JimShoe,

I've the same (or a similar) problem. The difference is: I cannot hear any dial tones or attempts to connect.

For IP connections the same modem works well.

Modem Driver Version: 3.5.25.0 (2003-08-27)

Microsoft Fax console (from WinXP) Version 5.1 (Build 2600xpsp2.030422-1633 : Service Pack 1)

I've already deinstalled the fax component and installed again - nothing helps.

The error report in the outfolder of the fax console is always: Fatal error, Retry overflow.

There is no more detailed error description.

I tried other additional attention codes in

Device Manager | Modem | BCM V.92 56K Modem | Additional Initializations

like ATF0 or ATF10 - nothing helps.

The modem is not going to dial.

Sorry, no help.
