Sorry about that, I must have hit something to post this before I was done.

ANYWAY... the error I get says: " Unable to start blue tooth stack service.

How do I fix this and what do you think caused it. Other than that, all is well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jackboy,

I found the solution for the bluetooth troubles on dell laptops.  Do the following :

1. Use the registry editor (Regedit) to locate and expand the following registry key:

'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\'

2. From the long list on the left, delete the following key:

'x86_microsoft.vc80.mfc_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_none_0c178a139ee2a7ed'.

3. Restart the computer and reinstall bluetooth drivers.

good luck.

Hi, Newbie here

I have an Inspirion 6400 and I have the same problem , but I have tried your solution and i do not have a 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS

I have deleted the bluetooth drivers, restarted the comp, but it still comes up and I can't receive anything or send anything via bluettoth, do you have any further suggestions on what i might try, please
