cables for dial-up

I just switched from a Desktop PC to an Inspiron 1520. A normal D. PC has 2 ports(hods) behind, 1 for phone the other for the line and i have connected dial-up many times but the Inspiron comes with one port for the phone only? How do i connect the cables in the Inspiron? Please reply soon!!!

according to your manual the phone connection port is on the back side of the computer right below the right side hing looking at the computer from the back.....

page 30.....

The port on the side is for a ether net connection and not a phone line...

Hi,

Currently shipped laptops comes only with a single Line In port for dialup. There is no option for a Phone-In port for portable systems. You could use a splitter between the telephone line and the Line In port on the portable.

ok i think i see what the orginal poster is refering to on pc modems there is usually two phone jacks to be able to bring the phone line into the system and go out to other devices...i think you are correct best-try in suggesting the dual inline if the intent is to be able to run the phone line into the computer and still be able to connect a phone etc. to the same line circuit....
