Can not disable wireless network

Ramdomly my wireless connection is now malfunctioning. I have an inspiron 600m. When i open my internet browser, I get the error message saying check your internet connection, the standard white page when you are not connected to internet service. However, the icon on the bottom right says i have as signal strength "very good." So i go to repair my connection and this message appears...following error "windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: disabling the wireless network adapter" then "make sure your network adapter is properly installed."

so then i go to my start menu, my network places, view network connections and attempt to disable my wireless connection...the following error appears..."it is not possible to disable the connection at this time. this connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support plug-and-play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account"

for weeks my connection has been fine. what is wrong with my internet connection. i have already run a virus scan, spysweeper scan, disk cleanup, and went to the dell site and ran a dell checkup scan on my computer, no errors have appeared. my computer is also not running slow.

can anyone help me please

much appreciated

Appears as if some program has got installed and is using some part of the wireless connection or configuration (As indicated by the message that a protocol is in use).
You can try uninstall the drivers and then reinstalling the latest ones from the Dell support site.

Download and save the latest driver for your card from the Dell support site.

Uninstall the Wireless Card drivers from the Device Manger. Also uninstall the Wireless Card utility from Add-Remove Programs list.
Restart the computer and once everything is loaded up, run the driver file that you downloaded.

Restart once the installation is complete and reconnect to your network.
If that doesn't work, try a System Restore to a day when you know the connection was working fine.
