Have you updated the firmware for your router, and if not, doing so might help out.  Another thing you might want to do is unplug the router and let it reset itself.  Also, I'm not sure if your router has one, but there might be a reset switch on the back of the unit.

Tank4ever,

I could not update the firmware since there is nothing displayed when I browsed to http://my.router/ or http://192.168.2.1

The page cannot be displayed.

First, whenever you change the connection between your modem and your router, you should completely reset the network by turning off the modem, turning off the router, and turning off the computers.  Then power up the modem, wait about five minutes, then power up the router, then power up the computers.  Once this is done, see if you can get an IP address from the router.  In Windows 98, go to Start Run and type winipcfg then click on OK.   Make sure that your ethernet is selected in the winipcfg box and see what IP address you are getting.  If you are not getting an IP address in the range 192.168.xxx.xxx, try clicking on Release then on Renew.  Report back what you find.

volcano11,

After following every detail of your instructions, renewing it, and getting the IP range, finally the router is working. Indeed, this is my first typing through this router.

 Steve sir, Thank you!
Your support greatly appreciated.
