Cannot Acquire IP Address

Hi, I have a new Inspiron e1505 with the dell wireless 1500 internal card.  It cannot acquire an ip address.  What is going on?  I have the Netgear Range Next Router.  Thanks

Do you have any security settings enabled on the router (MAC access control?, WEP or WPA encrytion?)  If so, as a troubleshooting step, try disabling the security temporarily to figure out where the problem is.
