Cannot connect JBL Charge Bluetooth

Hi

I'm trying to connect my JBL Charge Speaker bluetooth with my Dell Studio 15 laptop to listen music from my laptop, and cannot do it.

I installed the drivers for bluetooth, and my laptop doesn't find my speakers! Do I have to do anything else?

Can anyone help me? Is it possible to connect the speakers to my laptop?

I think my bluetooth is it working in my  laptop because I could connect my cellphone... but not the JBL Charge...

I have Windows Vista.

Thanks!

Don't be frustrated. The only thing I got is to see the speaker on the Bluetooth settings and sometimes it shows up as connected, but I am not able to set it up as a sound source so no sound is comming. I bought a simple jack cable for Speaker-Laptop connection. With iOS the Bluetooth works perfectly.

Moral of the story: F*ck Windows...

Hi, I had same problem connecting JBL charge shadow to my dell studio 15. But as SMIFFLAR mentioned,

I held power button until it flashes red and blue light then added bluetooth device to computer. Though it showed me icon of mobile hands free mono headphone, it got installed by fetching necessary  blue tooth drivers from net.

Then you need to click connect button in wizard which will add blue tooth speaker to your laptop and then you can have pleasure listening your music from laptop on JBL charge shadow speaker :emotion-1:

I too went with down this path with no resolutions I phoned JBL they said it was a Microsoft issue and they gave me a number I phoned microsoft and they told me it was a Dell issue I phoned dell and they told me that because I purchased my Brand new dell from Future shop that I was out of luck no support period

So if you buy a new JBL Charge you are F@cked and if you by a new dell from future shop you are f@cked

What is the point of using a jack cord for a wireless speaker

I ended up buying a Samsung Tablet and it works great I just wish these guys who sell you stuff would just back it up

I mostly use the speaker with iPhone and it works great and even with my tv it works perfectly. From time to time I connect it to my Dell with a jack but it is pretty annoying using a cable for a bluetooth speaker.

Since it works with a TV, mac, iphone...and everything else except a Dell and since bluetooth drivers are from Dell not Microsoft, this is definitely a Dell issue from my point of view and it is really stupid that Dell is not able to solve this minor issue...

Hi,

For playing the sound from JBL speakers follow the below steps:

1. After adding JBL in your bluetooth devices.

2. Go to Bluetooth Settings.

3. Select "Audio" tab

4. Select "Bluetooth Stereo Audio" and click "connect".

5. After connecting click "Apply" and than click "ok"

6. Now right click on volume icon on taskbar and select "Playback Devices"

7. Right click anywhere and enable both "Show diabled devices" and "Show disconnected devices".

8. Now right click on "Speakers/Headphones" and "disable" it.

Now play anything from your system it will play on JBL speakers.

Enjoy   :D

With the previous answer. If the steps did not get you to the point where after double-clicking the device icon in Devices & printers you cannot simply click "Connect" or "Listen to music" you might have to revert to older versions of you bluetooth driver. It worked for me.

I have Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) adapter and had to go back from driver version 20.60.0.1 to 20.20.0.2.

Hope this helps.

The updated driver (v20.90.1.1 10/8/2018) works for my Latitude E7240 and JBL Charge 3.

Have the same vostro 3550 with the same problem.

Where did you find the old dell's driver? At dell website there's only the Intel one...
