cannot connect to internent as the administrator

Am on a phone line and when i try to connect after password install the connection activity screen shows a second attempt and will not connect. i then get a window talking about working off line. All other family members connect fine. Any thoughts.

GRIAMAN..this is in support of your problem... 

I have similar one..I am running XP Media Addition on my Dell Inspiron E1505 via a wireless link and XP Home addition on a desktop.  The desktop is working GREAT and up until this AM my Laptop had been working as well.  When I logged on this morning as the Administrator, Internet Explorer would not load.  I shutdown the computer several time to reboot, then I tried to adjust my internet options but nothing worked.  Finally, when I switched to my spouses account on the laptop I was able to load Internet Explorer??  This seems to be a problem only with my account on XP and the laptop??  It looks like we are both looking for an expert response to what we need to do to fix these problems.

Thanks for the hit. Am looking to get to a place so as to set my account back to it's original state. I did go in during safe mode and tried to figure out how to change back but did not get to far. Am a little new at this and have been doing a lot of reading. With help I will whoop this thing. Let us see what help we can get.
