cannot connect to internet

I have a Inspiron mini 1012 and can connect to my wireless network but I cannot connect to the internet.

I have restarted  the modem, the router, and the computer with no effect.

I can pin my router and send and receive 4 packets ok.

None of the diagnostic utilities help.

As it turned out it was a Mcafee problem.

Let me guess, since there is not information about your operating system ot your wireless adapter.

 

Go to device manager, network, your adapter, advanced. Look for antenna diversity. If your adapter has this, then change it from Auto to Aux.

 

Try running WinSock XP Fix
