A bit more info would be nice.

What computer, how are you connecting, what OS

I bought a Dell inspiron 530 a month ago and have yet to connect to the internet. I have lost count of the telephone calls I have made to Dell and my ISP. I am sick of being "put through to someone who can help me".  I wouldn`t buy from Dell again and looking at this forum, it seems that there are a lot of problems. I want to send my computer back but the people on the phone don`t  seem to know where to return it to. I find that very strange. My internet connection is fine on this pc.  Do you feel that you are wasting your time too?

What error are you getting?  There are a large number of different things that might be causing connection problems.  Everything from a configuration problem on your ISPs hardware (only they can fix that), to configuration errors in your network adapter, to a firewall, bad cables, not having cables plugged in, not having the required drivers installed, not having the correct password (depending on the connection type, e.g., PPPoE), DNS errors (either the wrong DNS server address or a problem with the DNS server), etc.  Without more information nobody has any way to guess what steps you could try to either get more info on the problem or to resolve it.
