Fn+F2 does not disable the wireless card. Instead it turns off the transamitter. I have never had a problem turning off the transmitter using either Fn+F2 or the tray icon. I want to be able to disable the wireless card when I enable the internal wired Ethernet adapter since I use the same IP address for both. Thanks for the sugestion.
No, I use static IP addresses, not DHCP. The IP address for both the wireless and the wired adapter are 10.0.0.9. This lets me have ports forwarded to this computer through my firewall regardless of which adapter is enabled.
FWIW, I can disable the wireless adapter in Device Manager. It is just a lot more work to get there. :)
you can leave them both enabled. i have the 9300 and its fine. leave them both going. the wire to the ethernet card is different ip address from the wireless. it will be off by either 2 or 1 numbers.
