Does your wireless network adapter show up in Device Manager when you expand the listing for Network Adapters? Are there any device shown as problem devices in Device Manager? Did you recently reinstall Windows on this computer? If so, did you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other devices?
My network adaptor does show up in the device manager and it says it is working properly. i tried to install some customs settings for xp but did not download any chipset drivers as i know of. Nothing seem to change after i installed the settings. thanks, GYMMAN
Exactly what kind of "customs settings for xp" did you try to install? Have you tried using System Restore to return your computer to a state it was in prior to installing the "customs settings"?
I installed some settings that i hoped would help me get my wireless connection back, they were Networking Services, Other Network File and print Services, Management & Mointoring tools, Internet Explorer and Accessories & Utilities. I could not see any change in the system at all.
i have tried to use system restore on several occasions. At 1st it would let me restore to a date where everything was working properly. After i restored to this date there was no change in my settings. The last couple of times i tried to use system restore it would not let me go back to a previous date where the settings were working. When i clicked previous month nothing happened. It would not let me go back. Thanks for your help, GYMMAN
