Can't access google

Every time I try to use Google to search I get an error and it won't load: Unable to connect Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. On Firefox and on Internet Explorer I get: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Diagnose Connection Problems More information I have checked my firewalls and nothing is prohibiting Google from being shown... any ideas? Every other site works fine.
