can't access specific websites

Question

For over a week, I've been unable to access at least 2 websites. I use Firefox primarily and get a timed out error message. I tried I.E. and still can't access those websites. Both Firefox and Norton Antivirus installed updates recently, so there may be a problem with either one. I had my boyfriend try the websites on his computer and they came up immediately for him. We are on the same home network. I did a system restore and was able to access the websites, but it rendered Norton Antivirus unworkable, so we had to uninstall and reinstall Norton, and it's working again, but now I'm unable to access those websites again. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I use Windows ME and Norton Antivirus 2003, renewed recently, but which according to their website, no longer provides support.

Try this open IE and go to tools Internet options, security tab, be sure Internet is highlighted at top and hit the Default Level button if it is available, hit apply. Now highlight the restricted sites at the top and hit the sites button and make sure the sites you cannot reach are not listed in there, or hit the default button and then apply.
