can anyone help me i am trying to install a vodem on a dell dimension and i have set myself as administrator but it still comes up with administrative privileges required to install. arrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhh HELP PLEEEEEAAASE
My first thought just by the symptoms, sound like your wireless adapter might have given out. It is very common with wireless adapters, I've personally seem them fail out-of-the-box on several brands of computers. I would call technical support if your computer is still under warranty they can replace the adapter at no cost to you. If however your computer still covered under warranty, you can also purchase the adapter and install it yourself. The adapter is fairly inexpensive and is not very complicated to install, although you may want to get someone else to install it for you depending on your level of comfort with computers.
If you need that number in USA, its 1-800-624-9896 or visit www.dell.com for your local number.

richman11,
Hit the Windows Key and the R keys at the same time. Type
systeminfo.txt
REMOVE THE PRODUCT ID and post the rest of the information back here. (Preferred)
or an ipconfig /all log and maybe it will reveal something.

kitty78,
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?

My computer is pretty screwed up. I tried using systeminfo.txt but when I type it in an error comes up saying
"Windows cannot find 'systeminfo.txt'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

richman11,
Try running an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.
