can't connect to web pages

Am able to connect to the Internet and can also look at Outlook Express, but can't open up any web pages.  When I click on the Icon (either desktop or from the Start menu), the hourglass comes up briefly but then goes away.

I've tried to click on a website within a message I have on Outlook Express, but still no luck.

Ran NAV and no viruses appeared.

Tried to reinstall Windows XP  but got a message when I chose the recommended Partiition that it's too small.  Did not want to try the C: Partitition.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try downloading Firefox and see if that gets you connected.  www.Mozilla.org
