Can't find ethernet controller driver

Question

after a virus caused me to format my harddrive and reinstall windows XP home ed. on my dimension 8250, i was able to get everything back working except the internet. i deduced that my problem is my missing ethernet controller driver. after checking my OEM software and the dell website i was still unable to locate a driver for it (was able to find a driver for the win 98 base but not the new XP base). is there another location i can download the driver from  or am i trying to solve the wrong problem, please help.

That said, go to http://support.dell.com and enter your Service Tag #.
