Can't find Intel Updates for Dimension 3000
Hi,
I am new to these forums, but not new to Dell.
I just had to do a complete reformat. And my Driver Detective shows I need updates for my Intel items. They are as follows:
Intel 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controller
Intel Pro/100 VE Network Connection
Intel 82801EB LPC Interface Controller 24D0-2 of them
Intel 82801EB PCI Bridge 244E
Intel 82865G/PE/P Processor to I/O Controller 2570
Intel 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller-24D2-4 of them
I run a Dell Dimension 3000 with XP Pro with 2 gig.
I have no clue where to look for this stuff, and if anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

I have been to the downloads page, and installed what was shown and in the order it was shown.
It still keeps coming up that those Intel items are needing updated.
Thanks for your help though.

Can i ask what driver detective is?
All of those are more than likely more upto date versions of the drivers. If you installed the Dell drivers they should all be installed.
The only other suggeston I have would be to check the Intel site.

Driver Detective is a program that checks to see if your system has any outdated drivers.
And yes, the drivers are in the system; but they are out-of-date.
And I try to always keep my system as up as I can.

My apologies for 'cutting' but I wanted to see the driver list in the original post when I posted this. Note that the drivers below are *not* approved by Dell. Installing the chipset and storage drivers may cause *serious issues* (especially if the ones I linked to are not the correct ones -- I did my best).
I recommend a *full backup* or at least creating a restore point. I don't mean to scare you (I install the real Intel drivers all the time), but there are risks involved with these two (chipset and storage) that are pontentially system-wide. The fact that you have "no clue" where to find these leads me to think that there is no reason you should be installing the files below. You have been warned.
Network drivers can be found here. Ideally you should extract the '100' driver folder from the download with a program like 7zip or winrar and upgrade the driver manually with device manager. If you run the package directly, it *may* install proset software as well (which offers more functionality but is likely unneeded for your uses): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?sType=&agr=&ProductID=879&DwnldID=4275&url=/4275/a08/PRO2KXP.exe&PrdMap=&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng
Your computer is listed as having a Intel 865 GV chipset. You can see all relevant downloads by pulling up that chipset in Intel's Download Center. Updated chipset software can be found here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?url=/16023/a08/infinst_autol.exe&agr=N&ProductID=1049&DwnldID=16023&lang=eng
The storage controllers intel offers for that chipset are listed as RAID only (linked below). This means that Ultra ATA drivers are provided via windows. Personally, I would not recommend trying this file (though I doubt it will install anyway): http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Clearance.aspx?url=/15551/eng/iata55_enu.exe&agr=N&ProductID=1049&DwnldID=15551&lang=eng
Intel also has updates for integrated video -- you don't say whether you're using this or not.
I hope my help won't end up causing you pain -- but you did ask.
