goadri,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

The best people to contact about your DSL driver would be your DSL provider.  The best everyone else can do is give you possible ideas on taking an approach to the problem.  The DSL company knows what the current driver version is and where to obtain it.

goadri,

Hardware drivers for your Dell computer are available at the Downloads tab (above).  Once this works then there should not be a problem with connecting the system to a DSL connection.

Yes, I know that speaking to the provider is the obvious answer.  I have, in fact, done that many times and they're convinced that my network adapter card doesn't work.  But, no one seems to understand the driver problem.  And, I should also explain that I know where the driver is--it's on the CD from the provider along with the downloads for the browser, banking, email, etc.  Those things downloaded just fine.  The problem arises just when I'm installing the driver.  I would just like to know if you have any idea why there's this endless loop of installing the driver?

Thanks again.

goadri,

Yes, that is correct.  If you want touch-pad drivers, select the Input Devices Drivers category.  If you want audio drivers, select the Audio Drivers category.  Usually, it is easiest to select All when finding a driver because then you can choose from all of the drivers available.

Like I said, I'm not a techie.  Is it the network drivers category that I need?

Thanks again.
