can't log onto internet

I have a Latitude 600 running Windows 2000.Using a Netgear WG511T 108 Mbps wireless card.ISP is Comcast Cable and wireless router is LInksys Wireless-G 2.4 ghz, model WRT 54G.Wired modem is from Comcast.

When I log onto IE, I get the message "can't find server or DNS error". The other laptop in the house does not have a problem. What is my problem?

Thanks for any help in advance.

To help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

Your TCP/IP properties are set for a static IP address.  You need to change this to dynamic.  Thus, change the TCP IP properties to "Obtain an IP address automaticlly", and, if necessary, change them to "Obtain DNS server address automatically".

Steve,

I did change the TCP/IP and DNS to be automatic as you stated. I still get the same message that IE can't find the DNS server. Do you have any other suggestions?

Please run ipconfig /all again and post the output.
